Weekender Fringe: Trail Advantage Mountain Bike Peaks Coaching

Join Trail Advantage on Saturday 18 March for a mountain bike skills course aimed to improve the confidence and skills of new and intermediate riders.

Trail Advantage's Introduction To The Peaks course has been designed especially to give new and developing mountain bike riders the confidence to start exploring some of the amazing riding in and around The Outdoor City.

The course will be held on Houndkirk Moor and follow the natural trails along the moor that stretch from The Norfolk Arms at Ringinglow out to Fox House at Longshaw, taking in the Lady Cannings Plantation along the way.

Run by qualified British Cycling MTB coach, Adam Simmonite, Trail Advantage have been coaching mountain bike skills in Sheffield and the Peaks for several years now and Adam is a passionate ambassador of The Outdoor City, saying "I am proud to have such amazing riding on my doorstep. Over the years it’s been great to see more people getting inspired and out on their bikes."

This particular course will cover fundamental skills such as braking, cornering, weight shift, line choice and riding some more technical terrain found around Sheffield and the Peak. It will also cover some basic trailside maintenance to help riders keep riding..

There will be two opportunities to take part in the 3 hour course, with both an AM and a PM session running on the day. The sessions are limited to 8 riders per session, making for a more relaxed coaching environment.

Course attendees must be over the age of 18 and bring their own trail worthy mountain bike. Please note the course is not suitable for hybrid or Cyclo Cross bikes.
