The Climbing Works International Festival (CWIF) isn't like most climbing competitions. Yes, it attracts professional competitors from around the world. Yes, it offers prize money. But, far above all else, the CWIF exists for the fun of it.
Open to all climbers, regardless of age or ability, the CWIF encourages everyone to come along and test their strength and technique alongside the professionals. That inclusive nature saw the 2016 10th Anniversary celebration event bring together 450 competitors from 23 countries, and the festival team are looking forward to doing it all over again in 2017.
For 2017 the Sheffield-born outdoor brand Rab have come back on board as sponsors, saying "the CWIF has evolved into one of the most popular climbing events of the year and we are incredibly proud to be supporting a truly unique competition that allows the everyday climber to climb alongside their heroes. The 2016 Rab CWIF was a remarkable event and we look forward to working once again with The Climbing Works team to make 2017 even better!”
Register and pay the normal Climbing Works entry fee – the organisers just ask for a donation of £10 for teams, which goes to charity. Alongside all the climbing, expect a BBQ, giveaways, and special deals on kit over the weekend from Rab and other sponsors.
