Weekender Fringe: Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust Volunteer Days

Why not lend a hand at your local nature reserve, get some healthy exercise and help to keep our wild spaces looking lovely?

From Centenary Riverside right out to the wilds of Blacka Moor, Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust are hosting a series of volunteer work days at some of The Outdoor City's most beautiful nature hotspots. The dates and locations for these events are as follows:

Monday 13/03/2017 – Centenary Riverside
Meeting place at Riverside Way entrance, S60 1DS

Thursday 16/03/2017 – Blacka Moor Nature Reserve
Meeting place varies, contact nature.reserves@wildsheffield.com before the day

Friday 17/03/2017 – Woodhouse Washlands
Meeting place varies, contact nature.reserves@wildsheffield.com before the day

Sunday 19/03/2017 – Wyming Brook & Fox Hagg
Meeting place at Wyming Brook/Fox Hagg car park, Sheffield, South Yorkshire

Friday 24/03/2017 – Greno Woods
Meeting place at Forestry Commission Car Park, Woodhead Road

These voluntary events are of course free to attend- everyone is welcome, no experience is needed and the Wildlife Trust will provide all equipment and training. Come along for the whole day or just for an hour or two, it all helps the conservation of these fantastic spaces.

Hands on tasks vary from footpath improvement to habitat management. Please wear warm, waterproof clothing and sturdy shoes. If you're coming for the full day you may also want to bring a packed lunch and something to drink to keep you going.

Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust's Volunteer Work days take place regulary all year round, but this series of events have been specially programmed to take place in/around The Outdoor City Weekender 17-19 March.
