Welcome to Nicola Harpin from Yoga at the Reach. Nicola shares her programme of outdoor yoga with us and talks about its benefits.
Why do yoga outdoors?
We are all blessed living in Sheffield with its green spaces and the Peak District on our doorstep. As part of our annual yoga for all programme, we are delighted to announce our upcoming dates for outdoor yoga.
There is something to be said about connecting to nature at any time, but when you combine being outdoors with the very natural practice of yoga - breathing and moving together - the mind, the body and the whole world seem like a better place to be in.
Research has shown that doing yoga outside can help increase wakeful relaxation, enhance internal focus, increase confidence and lower stress levels. What’s not to like?
As we practice next to the grass, plants and trees, we practice in what was once our primeval world, allowing us a pathway leading us back to ourselves, taking us back to our roots in nature and the earth.
Practicing yoga in the fresh air with nature’s gifts surrounding us can leave us feeling invigorated, increase our vitality and help us replenish our energy levels.
Join us for outdoor yoga in the Botanical Gardens (off Brocco Bank) 10-11am on the following Sundays:
- Sunday 25th June
- Sunday 30th July
- Sunday 3rd September
Meet below the main lawns opposite the rose gardens. Everyone is welcome no matter of age and ability. Please bring a mat. Should you need a mat or assistance, please email me.
Outdoors not for you?
