Did you know that Cycling Sheffield is one of the most successful cycling teams in the UK? And that our Outdoor City’s cycling team finished in the top ten of the British Cycling National Series, with one of their riders scooping the Yorkshire Champion title last year?
Cycling Sheffield's made up of talented and aspiring riders aged 18-25. The team is sponsored and supported by local businesses and organisations, helping Sheffield position itself as a city that’s a major contributor to the UK economy. This concept of linking a city or region to a cycling team is one that’s worked well in Europe.
The team’s mission is to help riders develop and further their careers as athletes by providing a professional and nurturing team environment. During the 2016 season, they were incredibly successful. They finished in the top ten of the British Cycling National Series, ahead of several high profile teams including Team Wiggins.
Connor Swift, one of the team’s most successful riders, became 2016 Yorkshire Champion, winning the prestigious Regional Championship race.
2017's been no different and has seen the team go from strength to strength, participating in races county and countrywide. There’s a lot of local support for the team along with its growing national profile.
