Weekender Fringe: Accelerate Adventure Run

Fancy a Saturday running adventure challenge? Join Accelerate for an expedition trail out from Ecclesall Woods and into the peaks.

Following one of The Outdoor City’s new marked Run Routes, this 2 hour run will take in some of Sheffield’s most scenic trails. Meeting at The Woodland Discovery Centre in Ecclesall Woods, the Accelerate team will be running out towards the Peak District and finishing at the Longshaw Estate’s National Trust café.

Of course no social run would be complete without some well-earned coffee and cake at the end of it, so don’t forget to bring a little cash so you can treat yourself. The team will then be catching the bus back, so you’ll need some change for that also.

While the run is perhaps suitable for the more experienced, it’s open to any runner that can cover the distance of 13km and 500mts of height gain in less than two hours.

Trail running shoes are recommended for this and runners should also bring a spare warm layer and waterproof cover just in case, plus any food and drinks to keep you going over the 2 hours. It’s also recommended that a change of warm clothes are carried to change into before catching the bus back to Eccelsall Woods, as there here may be a wait.
